Chase Ink Premier Card Offers 10% ‘Pay Yourself Back’ Bonus
Chase recently announced a new addition to its Ink card portfolio, the Chase Ink Business Premier. This is a card with a big welcome bonus of $1,000 but it also has a $195 annual fee. It earns 2% back on every purchase and 2.5% total back on every purchase of $5,000 or more. You also get 5% total back on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
That sounds like a solid product if that cash back could be converted to Ultimate Rewards, but that’s not possible. So this is just a cash back business card.
However, the card has one of the features that we see on Ultimate Rewards earning cards, a Pay Yourself Back redemption bonus of 10%. The Pay Yourself Back categories for the Chase Ink Business Premier card include are internet, cable and phone purchases, through March 31, 2022.
These are not the most enticing categories. But the fact that Pay Yourself Back is an option on the card with a 10% bonus, could make Chase Ink Business Premier more valuable. Potentially you could earn 2.20% on all purchases and 2.75% cash back total on purchases of $5,000 or more.
Conclusion
The Pay Yourself Back tool is a good option to get more value for Ultimate Rewards points. But it is an option for the Ink Business Premier card as well, which could mean better earning and even a bigger signup bonus if the right categories come along.
Hopefully we see some better options in the future.
