Citi Sends Product Change Offers to Some Customers
Citi has sent out offers to some of its customers. The offers do not offer a bonus, but still get you some extra benefits at no cost. Let’s take a look.
The Offers
The first offer if to upgrade to the Citi Premier Card. Through this offer the annul fee is waived for the first year, so there’s no expense to do so. But you get to redeem your ThankYou points for 25% more value. Could be a good option if you have a large balance of points.
The other offer is to product change from a Citi Double Cash card to the new Citi Rewards+ Card. This is not really an exclusive offer. I believe you should be able to call in and product change even without receive this offer directly. The Citi Rewards+ is worth getting for the 10% bonus on redemptions, which can give you 10K ThankYou points annually with no cost at all. And it covers all redemptions, even on other Citi ThankYou cards.
This most likely will not disqualify you from getting a bonus on the new card within 24 months, based on the new Citi rules, but it is best to be sure before doing it.
Conclusion
These are not great offers, but they could be interesting for those who have large amounts of ThankYou points, or are heavily invested in the currency.

I upgraded from the ThankYou Preferred to the Premier back in March, in response to a mail offer. Two days ago, I got an email offer to change my Diamond Preferred to the Rewards+; I have a sky-high combined credit limit with them, and am LOL/12 and LMAO/24, so of course I took them up on it.
I also received an offer to product change from Citi Thank You Preferred to Citi Rewards + card. Interesting that they are making these offers. I have not used my TY Preferred since converting from a Prestige a year ago and using/transferring all my points.
