New Citi Spending Bonuses… Are You Targeted?
Citi is sending out targeted spending offers to some customers for the month of October. We see these offers occasionally. You need to have received an email in order to qualify.
The Offers
Here’s the offers that I have seen so far:
- Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Card
- Earn 2,000 American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles after you spend $200
- Citi ThankYou Preferred
- Earn 2,000 ThankYou points after you spend $200
Let me know if you were targeted with any different offer.
Key Terms
- Valid on purchases from 10/1 till 10/31
Conclusion
A good bonus that gives you an extra 10X on $200 of spending if you were targeted. Check your emails and register in order to take advantage of this Citi spending bonus.

I got 2000 miles for $1000. I don’t bother.
That is a bad one
I, wife, dad and mom all have multiple TY cards but it seems they target 1 offer per person even if you have more than 1 TY cards.
All of us got 1 TY offer each and my wife also got the 1 AA offer last month. and we haven’t used these cards for over an year I think.
Unlike some of lukewarm offers of past like get 3k TY after adding AU and spend $2500… this is far lucrative offer on minimal spend. 10x earn, sign me up!
Be sure to start using it on 10/1 but NOT before. signup now and wait.
Got one this month and for October
Same offer as the one we posted?
I have been targeted for the 2nd straight month
Same for me!
Weird that the Thank You Preferred would give AA miles as a bonus.
Fixed – thanks
The bonus spend offer on the Citi ThankYou Preferred is to earn AAdvantage bonus miles? That seems really strange!
Fixed – thanks
Thanks! 🙂
Never get any of these. Do we have to be opted in for marketing emails?
I haven’t used my AA card in a while, maybe that’s why. Although I’d think that would be more reason to entice me.
Likely closing the card when the AF is due.
Probably need to be opted in since they usually come via email.
