Citi has long been one of the more active banks when it comes to sending out targeted spending offers. Now they are sending out another round of these offers for purchases now through July 31, 2024. If targeted, you can earn up to 5X points on some popular categories. Let’s take a look.
The Offer
These offers vary, so take a look at the offer you have to check your email or online accounts to see which categories you are eligible for. Some of the offers include:
- Earn 2 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, through 07/31/2024 on eligible purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and retail shopping.
- Earn 5 ThankYou Points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, through 07/31/2024 on eligible purchases at Consumer Electronics Stores, Department Stores, Home Improvement Stores and Home Furnishing Stores

Conclusion
It is always nice to see these spending offers for cards that you already have. While the cap on this offer is small, it’s easy to hit, and some of the categories can be useful. These offers are normally sent out by email, mailers, or you might even find them online in your Citi accounts.
The offer for extra 2X points for example is showing up on the Active Cash card, which would give you 7X for the top spending category each month.
