CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select Card Offer
There is a new CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select Card offer that people may find very interesting. This is the highest offer that we have seen on the card in terms of miles, and there is no annual fee the first year. We have seen this offer come around a few times now though. Fee
The American Airlines business card does have an annual fee, but not the first year with this offer:
- $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $99.
Welcome Offer Value – $1125
If you value American Airlines miles at 1.5 cents per point, then this welcome offer is worth $1125. Since the annual fee is waived the first year you get to realize all of that value.
Citi Application Rules
There are a few Citi application rules you should be aware of before grabbing this CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select Card offer:
48 Month Rule
American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® account in the past 48 months.
8/65 Rule
Citi will only approve you for 1 credit card application every 8 days, and at most 2 cards in a 65 day period.
3/6 Rule
Citi also looks at your last 6 months of hard inquiries when considering applications. If you have more than 3 hard inquiries in the previous 6 months (not just credit card hard pulls) then they are much less likely to approve you. This doesn’t seem to be as much of a focus with American Airlines cards though.

- Eligible American Airlines purchases
