College Students: 4 Months of ChatGPT Plus for Free
OpenAI is offering four free months of ChatGPT Plus to eligible college students in the United States. The promotion is worth $80 and must be claimed by October 31, 2026.
The offer is available to full-time and part-time students enrolled at eligible U.S. degree-granting institutions. Student status is verified through SheerID, which may use enrollment records, school single sign-on or supporting documentation.

Students do not need to use their school email address for their ChatGPT account, although a school-issued email is required during the verification process. Existing ChatGPT Plus subscribers can also qualify, as long as they are billed directly by ChatGPT rather than through Apple or Google.
New subscribers must provide a payment method, but they will not be charged during the four-month promotional period. Once the free period ends, ChatGPT Plus will automatically renew at the regular $20 per month. But you can always cancel if you think it’s not worth the regular monthly price.
