Delta Announced Two Changes to SkyMiles Program
Last March, Delta announced special benefits and extensions to give SkyMiles Members more value and flexibility as they returned to travel, including making Award Travel temporarily eligible for Status earn through Dec. 31, 2022.
Delta has now announced that the ability to earn toward Medallion Status on Delta-marketed Award Travel will become permanent and the airline is also removing the 75,000 mileage earn cap.
Starting today, March 31, SkyMiles members will be able to earn toward Medallion Status on Delta-marketed Award Travel on a permanent basis. The 75,000 mileage earn cap will also be removed, retroactive starting Jan. 1, 2022. This will give members unlimited earning potential.
“Travel should always be seamless and rewarding, and we want to make sure our SkyMiles Members get the most out of every trip,” said Dwight James, S.V.P. of Customer Engagement & Loyalty and CEO of Delta Vacations, in a statement. “These adjustments to our program continue to set Delta apart as we focus on listening to our customers and rewarding our loyal members. As we look to the future, we’re committed to ensuring a consistent travel experience at every step.”
These are the latest in a series of investments Delta has made in its SkyMiles Program, including new partnerships with brands like Instacart, more flexibility with eCredit extensions as well as Status extensions through Jan. 31, 2023.
