Cash only here too
My local store has also been cash only on gift cards for quite a while now. Won’t even let you buy the Smart & Final store cards! Started not long after that awesome Amex promotion.
Just a heads up that my local store was cash or debit only.

Thanks. I have found their policy varies by store. This might still be a good deal even if paying cash, but that isn’t any fun!
But did they change their policy of cash only on gift cards? I went there a few months ago to get Arco gas cards and it was cash only. They were still not on EMV yet either, which probably is the key reason.
