Earn 3 Free Nights Brand Explorer Perk

Breaking: 3 Free Nights (4 With Stacking) From Brand Explorer Perk Confirmed!

Earlier today I posted that it should be possible to earn 3 free nights from the World of Hyatt Brand Explorer perk.  This is because they have added new brands to the system via partnerships.  This pushed their total brands count to 17, up from 13. Because of this I assumed you could now earn 3 free night awards since it only takes 5 brands to earn one.

In the comments reader UA2 pointed out that there were still only two award trophies on the page leading them to believe it is still only possible to earn two, not three.  This was a good point and I reached out to Hyatt for clarification.  This was their response:

For every 5 brands a member stays in, they will receive a free night award. Technically, Hyatt only has 14 brands currently in the program now (as JDV, Alila and Destination are coming soon into World of Hyatt). Once we have 15 brands integrated, 3 free night awards will be possible to achieve.

So once the new brands are bookable you should see another award added to the system.

Did You Say 4 Nights Is Possible?

But wait it gets better.  World of Hyatt is also running a promo where if you stay at the 4 new brands you can earn another free night cert.  You must spend one night at each of the following brands before 12/31/19:

  • Alila
  • Destination
  • Thompson
  • Joie de Vivre

These will also count towards the brand explorer perk which is a nice double dip right there.  You would only be one brand away from a second free night after those 4 stays.

Conclusion

I am glad my thinking wasn’t off base on this one.  I am also pumped that it will soon be possible to earn 3 Brand Explorer perks free nights.  And possible to snag 4 overall with proper planning and hitting the four new brands this year.  If you have a two player system that is now 8 free nights that are up for grabs.  Go out there and take them!

  1. I was approved for the Hyatt card a month ago and recently stayed at a bunch of Regency’s across Asia. I now have 20 nights on file. If I hit $15K spend I would earn 15K points (enough for a cat 4 award) and a cat 4 cert for reaching $15k spend. Then on top of that if I manage to stay at the four new brands I would earn another cat 4 award, but would I also earn a third cat 4 night for reaching 5 brands as part of the explorer award? Also that would put me at 24 nights plus 6 qualifying nights which would be 30 total and I see that I receive another cat 4 cert and then I get another cat 4 cert after my first year. By my count that is 5 Category 4 Certificates and 15K points. Does my math seem right?? because if so this seems way to good to pass up.

  2. Brian (the Gate) has now posted the 2000-bonus-points-per-new-brand-stay info, but everyone else does seem to be sitting this one out. Breaking, for sure. And I agree with you: this is a big deal.

  3. Hmmm, where are all these brands located? As a retired guy, I could do a roadtrip and clip off nights for a new vacation. I would also guess that maybe with the Prestige card one could also clip off another two nights too.
