Earn 5,000 United Miles With Home Chef Partnership

I received a flyer in the mail for an intriguing United / Home Chef partnership.  The offer could net you up to 5,000 United Mileageplus miles, which are worth $50-$75 depending on how you value them. Or if you transfer Ultimate Rewards to United often you could look at it like getting 5,000 UR points.  Let’s take a look at the offer.

United Mileage Plus Home Chef Offer Details

The offer will give you 1,000 miles on each of your first 5 boxes ordered. When there was the Amex Offer earlier this year Benjy attempted to use the offer to get free food. The cheapest option that worked for him was 3 meals for around $60.  So you would get 1,000 miles, worth $10-$15, for a $60ish dollar order at best.  If you don’t like the product you can quit at any time but you would only get the miles for the orders you completed.

You may be able to stack this with other offers.  I had my Rakuten button pop up offering $10 back as well.  I am not sure if stacking will track or not though so try at your own risk. The terms say you can not stack with other offers, but we all know how terms are not always reality.

  • Offer limited to one per household.
  • New customers only.
  • May not be combined with other offers.
  • Please allow 8-12 weeks after completed qualifying activity for miles to post to your account.

Final Thoughts

If you were looking at trying out Home Chef, and didn’t take advantage of the Amex Offer, then this may do the trick.  I am going to check it out with the wife and see if anything looks good.  Not sure if I will go all the way through with the 5 boxes but I know she has been interested in trying it in the past.
