Fast Track Path to AA Elite Status

Fast Track Path to AA Elite Status

American Airlines has a targeted offer for fast track Platinum Pro status through January 2023 for World of Hyatt members. With this offer the requirements are reduced making it easier to earn status. Let’s see how this offer works and how to check if you are eligible.

The Offer

Eligible World of Hyatt Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist members can register by September 30, 2021, and complete the qualifying challenge within three months of registration to upgrade their AAdvantage® status through January 2023.

Here are the requirements for each tier:

  • Gold:
    • $700 Elite Qualifying Dollars (EQDs) and
    • 6,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) OR 7 Elite Qualifying Segments (EQSs)
  • Platinum:
    • $1,500 Elite Qualifying Dollars (EQDs) and

  1. Checked with my Hyatt Concierge and they didn’t know the answer so I thought I’d ask here…do you receive AA status immediately so you’ll have it while you are completing this challenge?

  2. Domestically, if someone buys or redeems a first class ticket, one receives all of the benefits tier status offers (other than the higher award points earning rate). Domestically, tier status does not afford lounge access. But, there are several ways to obtain such access.

Internationally, if someone buys or redeems a business or first class ticket, the same applies and one receives lounge access. The other ways still apply.

For those favorably positioned with cash or points to do this, does airline tier status really matter?
