Fiji Airways to Adopt AAdvantage Program
Fiji Airways, Fiji’s national airline, announced a surprising move today saying that it will join the American Airlines AAdvantage program in the coming year. There’s no exact date yet.
Fiji Airways was already an American Airlines partners and AAdvantage members were already able to earn and redeem miles on select Fiji Airways flights.
Currently, Fiji Airways does not have a loyalty program of its own. Once Fiji joins AAdvantage, passengers will have the opportunity to earn and redeem AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points on all flights within its network as well as on Oneworld partner airlines. They will also be able to take advantage of other benefits of the AAdvantage program.
The South Pacific airline, which serves 26 destinations in 15 countries and territories, is also on track to become a full member of oneworld in 2025.
“We are taking our partnership with Fiji Airways one step further by offering our mutual customers the opportunity to unlock more destinations and travel experiences through the AAdvantage® program,” said Anmol Bhargava, American’s Vice President of Partnerships. “We look forward to welcoming Fiji Airways customers into the AAdvantage® program so they can experience all the ways we deliver on our commitment that travel is better as an AAdvantage® member.”
