Flights from Europe Will be Screened at 13 CDC Approved Airports
Travel from Europe to the U.S. has been suspended for 30 days starting Friday at midnight in an effort to quell the spread of coronavirus. Entry of most foreign nationals who have been in certain European countries at any point during the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival to the United States will be prohibited.
The ban doesn’t apply to U.S. citizens, their families and legal residents. But if they are coming from Europe they will undergo screening at 13 CDC approved airports and will be asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Details about the screening procedures that Americans and permanent residents coming from the 26 countries included in the restrictions are not yet available, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spokesman said Thursday. Details were listed on Delta’s website.
The U.S. State Department also issued updated guidance Wednesday recommending that Americans “Reconsider Travel Abroad” due to COVID-19.
