Galaxy’s Edge Coke Bottle Banned TSA
With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts, the company has gone to great lengths to ensure the land is theme specific. One of the ways they have done this is by redesigning their typical coke bottles. Within Galaxy’s Edge bottles that are sold look like “thermal detonators” instead of the traditional design.

TSA Confirms Ban
I have heard people speculate as to whether or not you could fly with these bottles, but now the TSA has confirmed they are banned from both checked and carry-on luggage. The TSA first let everyone know they are banned via Twitter, although a spokesperson has followed up with the OC Register to confirm this policy as well.
Thanks for asking! Replica and inert explosives aren’t allowed in either carry-on or checked bags.

The TSA spokeperson said, “Replica items are not allowed on aircraft” because, “It could create concern that it’s the real thing”.
Analysis
While the design of these bottles is very clearly all coke, I could see based on their shape how having them in luggage could cause confusion for screeners and other potential issues. While it stinks that you won’t be able to take these Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge thermal detonators home as souvenirs when flying, perhaps you can find someone local to give them to. Or maybe just recycle them?!?

They were stupid before. They’re still stupid but now have excellent benefits and retirement.
Just ship it.
That’s ok because SFO would also consider these a threat to the planet.
