Are these shenanigans what we should expect when Speedway
comes to California in 2020?
Speedway’s parent, Marathon Petroleum purchased Tesoro, which operates the solidly entrenched Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), and a perpetual brand license from BP for use of the AM/PM name at ARCO stations throughout southern California, southern Nevada, Arizona and Mexico.

My local Speedway said the promo was pulled days ago for technical reasons. They couldn’t get the system to properly pay out the gas rewards.
except that I had no problem with five card purchases on sunday…. If it had been “technical reasons,” you’d think it would have been restored.
Had another manager relay that he’d heard the sudden withdrawal was prompted by a new program from Speedy…. Sounds VERY fishy for this unprecedented withdrawal. Called the national speedway cs # — at first was told the deal always was set to end on August 12th….. which of course is not true. (lots of screen shots are out there of the promo ending Sept. 2nd.) Except this time (for the first time in the years they’ve been doing this promo), it ended early.
In short, we don’t know just what killed the deal — and Speedway thus far isn’t talking.
If the promo comes back, word to the wise will be don’t count on it sticking around.
Would like to know as well as this happened to me too. Speedway only sells MO with cash. Stupid why they dont accept debit. My shell stations would auto drain VGC’s too.
Does anyone know if one can use a credit card to buy visa gift cards at Speedways. All the Shell stations in my city were recently concerted to Speedways. Disappointing because Shell sold MOs with gifts cards, but such is like.
