Google Flights Now Includes Southwest Fares
Google Flights is a valuable free tool for finding cheap fares as it lets you compare prices between many airlines, including travel times, number of stops and more.
However, Southwest Airlines was a notable exclusion as the carrier does not release that information to third parties. So Google Flights would only show flight times for Southwest and then direct you to visit their site to check prices. That clearly adds extra time to the whole process.
But today Southwest flights are finally showing on Google Flights, just like most other airlines. This is great news for those near Southwest hubs, or those flying routes where Southwest often offers cheaper prices.
Google Flights has several features and filters, and also lets you set up alerts for price drops. That’s quite useful for Southwest especially since you can easily rebook flights when the price is lower.
While Southwest flights are now fully integrated into Google Flights, they are still missing from other online travel agencies like Expedia, Kayak and more.
