Groupon Stockpile Gift Card Deal

UPDATE:  They have pulled gift cards from the option.  You can still get $20 worth of stock for $8 but gift cards no longer work for the time being.

Groupon Stockpile Gift Card Deal

There is a great deal on Groupon right now that was first reported by Doctor of Credit.  It has been around for a couple of days and I am surprised that is hasn’t died yet.  I wanted to bring your attention to it in case you missed it the first time.  If you play it right you can get a $20 gift card (or two etc.) for under $8.

Deal Info

Groupon is offering a deal where you can get $20 worth of stock for only $10 on Stockpile.  You can use a 20% off offer for this deal too bringing it down to $8 (EXTRA20 currently works – ends 12/20).  If you go through a portal you can reduce the amount even more. The Chase Sapphire Ultimate rewards portal is at 8 UR per dollar and Ebates is at 6%.

The key is once you go to redeem the certificate if you go to more options you can pick from a plethora of gift cards instead.

Terms of the Deal

Here are the terms of the deal:

  • One per Groupon account – Groupon being the key word there 😉
  • Promotional value is good until 3/31/18
  • You must sign up for a Stockpile account
  • You may need to download the Stockpile app (that is how I did it)
  • It takes 3 days before the gift cards become active

Conclusion

This is a great deal, over 60% off multiple gift cards.  You could use it for stocks as well if you prefer that route.  Make sure to use the 20% off code when you go to purchase it and use a portal for even more of a discount.

  1. I had similar issue with the “redeem error” msg. I called and waited about 15 min. The lady said they were having technical errors this morning when i was trying to redeem. She waited on the phone with me as I tried again and it worked. Unfortunately as a previous post mentioned the gift card option is no longer available which was really the only reason i got this. oh well…

    • That sucks about the gift card option….you planning on just selling the stock and taking your profit or are you going to sit on it. I think you can get $5 in free stock from them too.

  2. After buying two Stockpile groupons (for me and the lady) and clicking the “view voucher” then “redeem online” a prompt appears that states:

    “Redeem Error
We’re sorry, your email link or claim code appears to be invalid or already claimed. Please try again or call Customer Service at 1-877-374-2584 between 9 am and 6 pm ET.”

Now I’ve been on hold for 15mins with no end in sight as the customer is not told when the next available customer service rep will be able to assist. This sounds like Stockpile bit off more than they can chew and are now being neglectful, hoping that customers call Groupon instead and ask for a refund….which I’m about to do.

    • Sorry to hear that Matt. They won’t even let you redeem it for stocks? That is pretty pathetic. I am not sure why they don’t pull the groupon if they are getting in over their head. I am assuming they put a limit on the amount they could sell with Groupon so this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise.

    • This is exactly what happened to me last night…still waiting to hear back from Groupon. Very frustrating…

    • Same error message for me last night. Sent Groupon an email, haven’t heard back. I just tried redeeming again this morning and the redemption went through (hooray!). I put the $20 into a stock since cashing out for a retail gift card was no longer an option (boo).

      • Sucks they pulled the GC option…should be able to quick sell the stock for a profit though 🙂

        • I think I’ll hold onto it! I am a fan of index funds for investments, so it’s kind of a fun novelty to pick out a single stock to keep. I chose LUV (Southwest), haha.

          • Nice – good luck! Make sure you do their gift a stock thing. You can send yourself $5 for free. It has been glitchy lately but hopefully it works in the next few days.

    • When I did it when I clicked other options a list of gift cards came up. Are you doing it on your computer or in the app on your phone?
