Hilton Looking to Add 33 Properties Across US and UK

Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. is in talks to buy the Graduate Hotels brand, as reported by Bloomberg.

The outlet cites sources with knowledge of the matter who requested anonymity discussing confidential information. Bloomberg says that the this is not a done deal just yet, adding that talks could fall apart or another buyer may emerge.

Graduate Hotels is a fairly new company which launched back in 2014 with its first hotels in smaller towns such as Athens, Georgia, and Tempe, Arizona. But it has since moved into larger markets such as Graduate New York in Roosevelt Island.

Graduate Hotels currently boasts 31 properties the Unites States and another two in Cambridge and Oxford, in the united Kingdom. The company also has four new additions coming soon in Auburn, AL,  Austin and Dallas, TX, and Princeton, NJ.

It’s too early to tell how these new properties would fit into the Hilton Honors program.

  1. I always get a snicker when I read about Roosevelt Island. Apparently it was called tuberculosis island or something similar around a century ago. My grandmother was quarantined there for a while before being permitted to enter the country. When its medical use was ended and it was looking at being developed someone realized that nobody in their right mind would want to move to tuberculosis island so they gave it a fancier new name.
