How A Rude Traveler’s Photo Defeated A Case Of The Mondays!

I had a buddy send me a pic of a situation he was dealing with on his cross country flight today.  It was a photo that perfectly displays how some passengers really don’t care about their fellow travelers.  I posted it in our Facebook Group and hilarity ensued, as expected.  I wanted to share some of the best comments from it.

How Would You React

I asked a simple question to the group – how should this be handled.  That is when the jokes came out.  Here are some of the better ones:

Variations of these were said (mine noted below) but JD’s comment kicked it off.

Not really related to the jacket situation but funny and true as well.

And along those same lines…

All of the use the hood for storage comments prompted this #fakenews post

This comment won the day in my opinion.

I really can’t believe nothing was said by any of the flight attendants.

Conclusion

Now this could have been ended right away by simply asking the passenger to move their coat.  Not that anyone should have to do that since it is common sense to keep your belongings in your personal space. This most likely would have happened without incident, but you never know these days. In my opinion this should have been addressed by the FA as well, especially since it is in the exit row.

But my buddy and his seatmate, who he didn’t know before the flight, had some fun reading the posts and comments about it and watching it play out.  When you have many hours to burn in economy you might as well have some fun, right?.  Plus everyone who was participating would not have been able to enjoy it as well.  I think everyone had some fun and it helped break up a case of the Mondays for all involved.

If you like to have fun joking around and chatting with other travel, miles and points enthusiasts then you should check out our Facebook Group.  There are still a lot of hilarious comments in there I didn’t cover too.  If you don’t like to have fun, share tips, and digitally mingle with other travelers then another group would probably be better suited for you :).

Feel free to leave your best one liners in the comment section or on Facebook!

  1. i would have poured my leftover ice in the hood, no evidence left behind as your cup would be long gone by the time she put her coat on.

  2. Maybe I’m naïve, but did anyone simply say, “Excuse me, do you mind moving your coat because it’s on my tray table and I don’t want to get food or drink all over it.”

    • Tessa that is what normal people would do – we were just having too much fun with it and wanted to see how it played out :). All in good fun

      • Maybe that person is flying for the first (few) time and didn’t know better. This looks like shaming. Imaging you’re in a foreign place and did something rude to the locals, instead of the locals coming up to let you know that this isn’t good, they group up behind your back and make fun of you.
If this person knew this was bad, had the intention of not caring about other passengers then I’d say you did ok.

        • Max the person boarded the plane late, complained to FA about checking their luggage, opened every overhead bin and moved peoples belongings around until they found a space to jam their bag in ignoring the FAs and holding up the plane. Trust me they didn’t care.

And we didn’t post a picture of the person, the plane number, the seat number etc. so we are not shaming anyone…unless you can shame a jacket I guess
