How To Get National Emerald Executive Status Free & Easy
I wanted to share a quick deal on how to get National Emerald Executive status free & easy. I used this trick when I went on our trip to Alaska and it ended up getting me upgraded to an SUV. It only takes a few seconds so if you ever use National for your car rental needs you will want to set it up.
Executive Status For American Express Platinum Cardholders…Or Anyone?
There is an offer on National’s website to get Executive Emerald Club status and it is intended for American Express Platinum cardholders. I am still an Amex Platinum cardholder, thanks to an awesome retention offer, but it doesn’t appear that I needed to be.
I went through the process of upgrading my account and it never actually asked me for any proof that I was an Amex Platinum cardholder. Once I completed the quick form I was a newly minted National Emerald Executive, good until February of 2023.

This is a quick and easy way to get National Emerald Executive status without going through any of the work required. That and with their free night rentals they are my go to rental company.

[…] Here is an interesting post on getting National Emerald status without the AmEx Platinum card, by Miles to Memories. […]
I got Executive Elite, but good only until Feb. 28, 2022.
I can confirm this works regardless of whether or not you have the card. Nice tip!!
Now if I could only get my company to ditch avis and start using National again.
-Jeremy from the CBoardingGroup
Thanks Jeremy. National is > Avis for sure 🙂 – hopefully they see the light.
Confused…is this Executive status or Executive elite? You mentioned both but the offer says Executive status and the benefits you list also Executive status and NOT Executive elite which is a step above. Also, Executive status is a regular benefit of the amex platinum card and does not require a special promotion. Could you please clarify as your article is extremely confusing
Sorry it is Executive status and I meant Executive elite as in just generic elite status (like any program). Shame on them for using that as the upper tier to make it easily confusable lol – I’ll update to clarify.
