How To Use Atmos Rewards Summit Card’s 25K Companion Award
The Atmos Rewards Summit card was released to much fanfare last year. It instantly became on of the best (maybe best) airline credit card on the market. It was a rare premium card that offered perks that actually made sense for the airline’s flyers. No random Grubhub or Uber credits here! One of the better perks of the card is the award flight companion pass. That is why I wanted to put together this guide about how to use Atmos Rewards Summit card’s 25K companion award. You want to get the most out of your card perks after all, don’t you?
There Are Two Companion Awards, But They Should Work The Same Way
I should notate that the Atmos Rewards Summit card comes with the potential to earn a second companion award too. The one I will go over in this how to use Atmos Rewards Summit card’s 25K companion award guide is earned as a part of the welcome offer. After that you get one each cardmember anniversary too.
There is a second, much more lucrative, 100K Global Companion Award that can be earned if you spend $60,000 in a cardmember year. I don’t think I will be earning this one this year, but I imagine the redemption process will be the same as the 25K companion award.
How To Use Your Alaska 25K Award Companion Pass
Below you will find the step by step process on how to use Atmos Rewards Summit card’s 25K companion award. I even added in a few different scenarios so you can see how versatile the perk is.
Step 1: Locate Your Discount / Companion Code
Once you are logged into your Alaska Atmos account you will will want to locate your Discount / Companion Code. You can do this several different ways, but the picture above is from my Account Overview Page. That is probably the easiest place to find it. Although, it has it’s own section on the dropdown under your name once logged in as well.
Step 2: Click Use To Book Or Copy & Paste Code
Once on the companion fares page scroll down to find your available 25K Global Companion Awards Ticket. That is if you have earned it yet, or paid your second+ year annual fee. You can click Use To Book and it will automatically add the companion code to your search. You can also copy and paste the code yourself. Clicking the button is easier though…
Step 3: Verify Code Is Attached To Search
When on the booking page be sure to check that the Discount Code was properly attached. You can see mine highlighted in red above. This is also where you would paste the code if you decided to take the hard way and copied it.
Step 4: Pick Your Flight Of Choice
The last step is to pick the flight that works best for you time and price wise. The companion’s price will already be discounted by up to 25,000 Atmos Rewards points.
Atmos Rewards Summit Card’s 25K Companion Award FAQ
There are some notable things I wanted to point out about the Atmos Rewards Summit card’s 25K companion awards:
- You can use them for flights that cost less than 25,000 miles, but you lose anything left over.
- You can book a flight that is more expensive than 25,000 miles and pay the difference with Atmos Rewards in your account.
- The companion award works on business class or main cabin flights
- The companion award works on one-way or round-trip flights
- You can use the companion award on partner flights
Using Your Alaska Airlines Companion Pass
For some reason I thought the Atmos Rewards Summit card’s 25K companion awards only worked on round trip flights. That was a nice surprise when I figured out that wasn’t the case once I started to use mine.
The companion pass / award is a great perk of the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa card. If you value the miles saved at 1.5 cents a piece, then using it would offset $375 (or most) of the annual fee. I like how easy to use and versatile this card perk is. That should make it a lot easier for people to use compared to some other companion pass card perks.
