Hyatt Cardmembers Can Earn a Free Night by Spending $4,000
Update: It’s only available to Hyatt Credit Cardmembers (legacy cardholders).
Hyatt is offering cardmembers an opportunity to earn an additional free night, but using their cards during the holiday season. Some emails have been sent out about this promotion, but it should be available for everyone, starting next month. Let’s see the details.
The Offer
Whether it is spending on gifts for the holidays or everyday spend, shopping this holiday season can earn Hyatt Credit Cardmembers a well-deserved escape to enjoy in 2021.
- Beginning November 1 through December 31, 2020, Hyatt Credit Cardmembers can earn a free night at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel after spending $4,000 USD on the card. That’s on top of the free night they receive on their cardmember anniversary!
- Hyatt Credit Cardmembers must register for this offer by November 30, 2020, for their spend on the card during the offer period to count toward earning a free night award.
-
The free night certificate for the Hyatt Credit Card holiday spend offer will expire 365 days from issuance.
Hyatt alerted us to this promotion but one of our readers, Jason, also forwarded an email that he received about the same. You can see the link that was provided by email here. It has a different starting date, October 27. If you are not able to register for the promotion now, wait until November 1 and try again. It should be available to all Hyatt cardholders.
Key Terms
- Please allow 4 weeks from the end of the promotion period for the Free Night Award to be issued to your World of Hyatt account at worldofhyatt.com.
- Free Night Award not valid at properties in any other category or at Miraval, Hyatt Zilara or Hyatt Ziva resorts.
- An authorized user will not receive this Free Night Award.
Conclusion
A timely offer from Hyatt, as most people usually have more spending to do during the holiday season. If you are able to spend $4,000 or more with your Hyatt credit card within two months, you will earn a free night at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel.

Unfortunately it looks like Chase is only doing the old card rather than the WoH card. I have the old card which is great, but wife has new card and we were hoping, because we have a lot of spend coming up in the next couple of months. Hopefully Chase changes its mind and offers it to all Hyatt cardholders
Chase also put out a up to 1500/mo for Nov/Dec on combined 5x Amazon/WF and 3x Grocery purchases. Easy 3k at bonused spend and the extra 1k for a night makes a lot of sense, though Hyatt nights are hard to redeem imo.
Will try Nov 1. Neither my wife nor I could sign up.
Maybe targeted or not fully rolled out. Didn’t work for me. New WOH card with consistent spend.
From T&Cs: “To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This promotional offer is non-transferable.”
Hyatt sent us an email about the promotion, with a Nov. 1 starting date (different from Oct. 27 mentioned in the email to cardholders). Maybe try again then, it should be available to all based on their email. I asked them for clarification to make sure, and I’ll update, if necessary, when they respond.
This is for the new WoH card rather than the old Hyatt card?
I have the old card and it worked for me. There was a story not too long ago that they were going to force all the old cards to the new WoH cards but that hasnt happened to me yet.
FYI, typo, by not but – Hyatt is offering cardmembers an opportunity to earn an additional free night, but using their cards during the holiday season.
It didn’t work for me or my wife. I’ll try again after November 1 and hopefully it works. I can easily use this for both of us for our property tax payment which is due by December 10.
Mine started yesterday. I did my wife’s and mind without a problem. With tax season upon us, prepaying should help. Not sure I want to do any MS with this.
Mine started yesterday. Put my wife’s hyatt # in and her card was not eligible. Altho I will try on Nov 1 to see if it works then (although not sure we can spend $8k in 2 months)
It looks like its available on my wife’s account and she has the old card. It’s not available on mine yet and I have the new and old card.
