IHG Reward Night Promo
IHG’s been buzzing lately. The IHG One Rewards program just announced a new double elite night promo, and the IHG Premier card welcome offer recently elevated to 170k bonus points. But meanwhile, a quieter IHG reward night promo around for the past few weeks has caught my eye. Let’s take a look at this offer and what makes it worth considering.
15% Off Award Stays
The IHG One Rewards program is currently offering 15% off reward nights at a selection of their newest and recently renovated properties. Members must be logged into their accounts to view these special rates. Individuals can view all participating properties here.
This promotion has three different timeframes depending on the selected property. Guests must book and stay at selected properties by the following deadlines:
- 31 January 2025
- 28 February 2025
- 31 March 2025
According to the terms, this 15% off promo cannot be combined with the “fourth night free” benefit available to certain IHG One Rewards members. The terms also clarify the promo is only for stays of three or fewer consecutive reward nights.
My Take
While this offer doesn’t grab a ton of attention, many IHG loyalists can clearly come out ahead on shorter stays. Even better, they can save on stays at newer or recently refreshed properties, which many find more desirable. Indeed, other chains have offered similar promos on older, dustier properties, so finding deals on those new-car-smell hotels is a nice way to change things up.
Even better, eligible properties cross a wide swath of IHG’s portfolio, in terms of brands and locations. The program’s offering a diverse set of hotels in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
I’ve benefitted from this promo during previous iterations. On a recent occasion, I had an Holiday Inn Express award stay booked at a property subsequently included in this promotion. I cancelled my existing reservation and made a new one, saving a sizable chunk of points along the way.
Our IHG activity has been up and down for years, but my wife and I are each currently Diamond members. Over time, though, we can’t ignore that IHG has steadily devalued aspects of their loyalty program, with award nights costing many more points than before. Award rates at certain properties are ridiculously high. Therefore, it’s integral for members to pursue IHG award discounts, including this promo, fourth night free stays, or other options. And while not combinable with the fourth night free option, members are getting a similar discount on a shorter stay, something IHG doesn’t normally offer.

My family and I won’t be able to take advantage of this IHG reward night promo this go-round. We simply don’t have travel plans to any participating locations during this three-month timeframe. But that’s fine, as this offer comes back around occasionally. It might not be useful for you this time but could be in the future. Again, bookmark this page and check back periodically.
