Tempting but the problem with IHG certificates is the expiration dates (in this case, have to complete the second/free stay by end of April). Based on the MtM Podcast, a lot of us aren’t focusing on points and certificates quite as intently as usual. The first one that’s going to bit a lot of people is the Chase IHG Free Night Certs. They were ‘extended’ but you still have to book AND STAY by the end of the year, and (as a company with some serious issues right now) I doubt that IHG will extend them again. A lot of people, myself included, are probably going to end up wasting those certificates. If IHG cared about their loyalty program members, they would at least open things up so those certificates worked at any IHG property, any day, between now and the end of the year. And who knows, with more options maybe certificate users would stay for a second paid night, or order room service, or at least start to feel more comfortable about returning to a hotel…
