LA Theme Parks and Stadiums to Require Proof of Vaccination or Negative Test
Planning to visit theme parks or events in Los Angeles County? Don’t forget to bring your vaccination card, or get tested for COVID-19.
LA is now requiring that guests attending large events like outdoor concerts and ballgames, show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test from the past 72 hours. This will also affect popular theme parks such as Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Large outdoor venues will need to comply by October 7th, Bloomberg reports. Attendees at indoor mega-events are already required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test.
Places like bars and nightclubs will have to require that customers and employees have at least one dose of the vaccine by that date and both doses by Nov. 4. The order recommends, but does not require, vaccine verification for employees and customers in indoor portions of restaurants.
“This modified health officer order aligns with the continued need to reduce risk of transmission and increase vaccination coverage,” Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer told the Board of Supervisors. “This is a reasonable path forward that will position us to be better able to break the cycle of surges.”
So far, 76% of L.A. County residents 12 and older have at least one dose, and 67% are fully vaccinated.
