Macy’s Amex Offer

A new semi-targeted Amex Offer quietly dropped today. It isn’t the flashiest, but will be good for some. Let’s take a look.

The Offer

Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions in-store at Macy’s or online at macys.com by 12/30/2016.

Key Terms

  • Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories.
  • Not valid at outlet locations (in-store and online).
  • Excludes Nespresso boutiques, pop-up stores, parking garages, USPS, Stride Rite, Macy’s Bridal Salons, Macys Backstage, Macy’s Travel, Visit Macy’s, Shop For a Cause, New Zoom kiosks/vending machines, restaurants inside stores, delivery services, WorryNoMore Protection service, Nineteenth Amendment, Men’s Wearhouse Tuxedo Shops, Macys Shop at Home and design services and corporate sales.
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.

How to Load

This offer is somewhat targeted, but I did receive it on every one of my personal cards. I imagine you will probably find it on most/all of your personal Amex cards and not on your business cards. You have to go to the Amex website or app to load.

15% off at Macy’s might not seem like much on the surface, but they often run 15-25% off coupons plus they have been known to have the occasional monster portal bonus. I have seen 10X+ from mileage portals and up to 15% cashback before. In other words, you can stack this with other promotions they no doubt will have during the holiday season to save big.

Conclusion

 

Since the majority of the blockbuster Amex Offers come on Monday, it is nice to see a decent offer drop midweek. Load this one up and then wait for a good promotion!

  2. I’m thinking the best way to maximize is to buy Gift Cards (assuming you have the offer on multiple Cards) and then sit on the credit until Macy’s has a super-hot deal (or portal bonus, or both)?
