Marriott and Amex Offer 15% Discount
Currently, Marriott and Amex are offering a promotion for 15% off select packages at a number of participating hotels when you use their promo code and pay with your Amex card. There are a few other promotions like this going on now including the free night promo at Preferred Hotels that I covered last month.
Later this week I’ll be exploring ways to take advantage of the Marriott program before it changes over to a new points system in 2019. I’d also love to hear how all of you are setting yourselves up for the upcoming changes, whether it be speculatively booking stays, mattress running or heck leaving the program altogether.

Get 15% off select packages at participating EDITION, JW Marriott, Autograph Collection and Renaissance properties when you book by May 11, 2019 and pay for your stay with any American Express Card between November 12, 2018 and May 12, 2019 using promo code Q23. There is no minimum night requirement so this could be a nice way to extend a points stay for a lower rate and get a few added perks.
I haven’t looked at the list of hotels in-depth but I wonder if there’s a significant amount of overlap between this program and Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. There may be some way to book a package and FHR stay back to back to maximize value. You can pay with ANY American Express card per the terms. Conclusion
I don’t know too much about the Experiences program, so as always I’d suggest doing a few price comparisons before you book. Leave a note in the comments if you’ve ever booked an experience package and whether it was worth it. This seems like a good deal and yet another awesome perk bestowed upon Amex cardholders. Outside their official travel site, Amex sometimes partners with hotels and airlines to offer benefits like this Emirates flight discount offered until the end of the year.
