Massive Devaluation for Some Popular Hilton Properties
This might sound like old news because Hilton devaluated several top properties just a few months ago. But this is yet another devaluation with some properties jumping by as much as 50,000 points.
One example is Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal which went from 120,000 t0 140,000 back in December. Now it costs a whopping 190,000 points per night.
Waldorf Maldives Ithaafushi and Hermitage Bay have also jumped from 150,000 points per night to 190,000 points per night.
Other properties that have jumped in price as of today, include:
- South Bank Turks and Caicos: 130,000 to 180,000
- Eichardt’s Private Hotel: 120,000 to 170,000
- Milaidhoo Maldives: 150,000 to 170,000
- Huvafen Fushi Maldives: 150,000 to 160,000
- Waldorf Astoria Osaka: 100,000 to 120,000
I’m sure there are even more properties that have increased in price, so let us know if any of your favorite hotels have gotten more expensive.
Conclusion
Since Hilton Honors has no award chart, they can increase prices as often as they please without informing members. This latest devaluation has some properties jump up in price by as much as 25% once again.
The only good news is that you can still (for now?) use your Free Night Reward to book a room at these properties, as long as a Standard Reward is available.

Pedregal is beautiful. Private quiet area of LC. I would not stay at Hilton Pedregal. Visited it in November of 2024, stayed in that area. I would return to the area. I would NOT stay at Hilton Pedregal. They are overpriced! Hidden unexpected fees. Went to the spa, very disappointed. The spa is not appropriate for that property. The best part of this property is the tunnel they had to dig to get to the hotel. Pretty cool. We felt we got charged for that fee by being on the property! Totally regret going to the spa there. In the past I have not been disappointed with a Waldorf spa, this one I would not return. The price was overrated.
Hotel rooms at these resorts cost over $1000 a night (some much more) so with a standard .5 cent value for Hilton points 200,000 is about right and still probably represents value.
It is not a “devaluation” when dynamic pricing is adjusted to better match the cash price. Sorry you can’t stay for the same points as before but Hilton’s increase is reasonable and a practical business move. They shouldn’t be expected to give away their rooms for less than market value.
+100 whocares. Most of use could care less about the Maldives which persecutes LGBTQ. There are many great options in Cabo and Osaka that are much better deals.
don’t know about that angle.
My visit to the Maldives was in early 2005. Did a scuba live aboard. Male – is a crowded and cramped city. People there want to leave.
Better diving elsewhere as well.
I can see why people would want to visit – novelty factor as well, but for the effort / price to get there – over-rated. I went there while living in Bangkok at the time – so it was close. And far fewer resorts then today.
But I’m in the done that already camp, so I suppose someone who has never been, or not much similar, and working a lot – it’s this amazing destination. But the blogosphere keeps talking about it like it’s the coolest place ever – even after the writers have been there.
Maldives is awesome. Most of us could care less about the beliefs and politics they’re allowed to enforce as a sovereign Muslim nation.
Not sure why the obsession with Maldives and Cabo. But hey…more in those places, less in others.
Maldives is over-rated and that part of Cabo has a beach that — for all intensive purposes – is unswimmable. Steep entry angle and big waves.
Even without that…Cabo is over-rated. Been a couple of times. But hey…one man’s treasure, is another man’s junk.
