One great credit card offer has ended. The Merrill+ Visa Signature card from BofA had, until yesterday, an offer for 50,000 points, but today, both application links that were available, are no longer working. Shawn posted about it back in November.
The Offer
Earn 50,000 bonus points after spending at least $3,000 on purchases within first 90 days.
Card Benefits
- Earn 1X Everywhere.
- No annual fee.
- Points are worth 1 cent each for statement credits or up to 2 cents each for airfare.
- Get either a Delta SkyClub Membership or a $200 travel credit after $50K in spend annually.
How To Use Points
To get a value of 2cpp you need to redeem for air travel.
With Anytime, Anywhere™ Air Rewards, redeem your points for air travel with no restrictions. You can redeem 25,000 Merrill Points for a ticket up to $500 (inclusive of taxes and fees) on any available airline—giving you a travel value of up to 2%. Plus, you’ll still earn frequent flyer miles on your redeemed flight. That rate is available on American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Airlines & United Airlines. On all other airlines you need to redeem 30,000 Merrill Points for a ticket up to $500 in value.
If your flight costs more than $500, you must pay the difference with points. You will receive $.01 per point toward the Air Reward until all points are exhausted. After that, you may pay any remaining balance with your Card.
You can’t combine two or more lower-priced tickets to reach the maximum cost.
There is no expiration date on your points, as long as your account remains open and in good standing
Analysis
Hopefully you already grabbed this card. The sign up bonus has a value of up to $1,000 and it comes with no annual fee, so I was actually surprised it lasted this long. I did get the card, but I have yet to use the points.
Did you?

Did anyone receive the Merrill+ CC a second time with the same bonus?
I’m usually on the other end of these announcements but just got approved yesterday. Applied Sunday and got the “we’ll let youknow”, which at this point to me is auto-deny and marked it as such in my spreadsheet. Was shocked when the wife asked, “honey did you apply for card? they’re mailing it to me”. Sweet!
Nice timing!
Got lucky because just got the card yesterday and my husband last week. I am wondering how redemptions will work with trying to avoid the “new ” basic seats. Hope you will post about your experience using the points.
Wow, I was approved for this card at 50k on Monday. So glad!
Close one 🙂
My wife and I each picked up this card. It was a great sign-up bonus.
One interesting thing I saw was that when trying to put together a multi-airline round trip ticket on the website, it appeared to allow a Delta-United outbound and return, respectively, but not a Delta-American combination.
Getting close to the $500 “sweet spot” of value for each ticket may be a challenge, but I’m glad to have picked up the card.
Applied yesterday and was approved today. What timing! Sign on bonus is incredible. Excited to put it to use.
Nice!!! Living on the edge 🙂
