MGM Rewards has brought back its Status Match Challenge, offering complimentary Gold or Platinum status for the next 90 days. You also have the option to complete requirements to extend your status through January 31, 2028. let’s go over the details.

The Offer

Take advantage of this MGM Rewards’ Status Match Challenge!  Present your valid VIP loyalty card from an eligible competitor at any MGM Rewards desk by June 30, 2026 to receive an instant upgrade to Gold or Platinum status for the next 90 days – complimentary.

Once you’ve received your Status Match upgrade, you’re automatically enrolled in the Challenge. Complete the Challenge requirements to extend your Status Match through January 31, 2028.

• Challenge requirements for Gold: Earn an additional 50,000 Tier Credits on certain eligible spend within 90 days of your Status Match.
• Challenge requirements for Platinum: Earn an additional 150,000 Tier Credits on certain eligible spend within 90 days of your Status Match.

• Status Match Challenge is available to new and existing MGM Rewards members who request and receive approval for a Status Match upgrade during the period of March 2 – June 30, 2026.
• Tier Status received through Status Match expires 90 days after the date of receiving such Status Match, unless the Challenge requirements are met, or member otherwise earns the Tier Credit requirements associated with the corresponding Tier Status.
• The name on the loyalty card must match your valid government-issued photo identification.
• Your individual Challenge progress will be viewable on the MGM Rewards app and mgmrewards.com within 24 hours of your Status Match.
• During the applicable Tier Status Earning Year, members must earn 75,000 Tier Credits to be eligible to receive the Gold Tier Celebration Credit and 200,000 Tier Credits to be eligible to receive the Platinum Tier Celebration Credit, Air Travel Credit and Annual Cruise Benefit. You do not automatically receive these benefits by receiving a Status Match upgrade or successfully completing the Status Match Challenge.

Conclusion

MGM Gold status gets you waived resort fees, priority check-in, and room upgrades. Platinum also gets you priority line access, 30% Bonus on SLOT DOLLARS, and late check-out.

It’s important to note that you do not get some of the more valuable benefits for these two tiers such as Celebration Credit, Air Travel Credit or Annual Cruise Benefit. Those benefits are only for members who earn status through Tier Credits.
