Midway International Airport Getting Its First Lounge
For the first time ever, Chicago’s Midway Airport will offer a lounge for passengers to relax and enjoy food and drinks while waiting for their flights.
According to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Aviation, the lounge will be located in the Central Market between Concourses A and B, and will be available to travelers regardless of which airline they’re flying.
“Each year, more than 22.7 million people travel through Midway, and we’re excited to be able to offer each of them this new service worthy of our world-class city,” Johnson said in a statement.
According to the press release, the lounge will offer complimentary food and beverage service to all its patrons in an inviting, relaxing environment.
Access to Club MDW will be available via the Priority Pass program, which is complimentary with numerous credit cards. Day passes for the lounge can be purchased for $50, according to officials.
The new 3,300-square-foot lounge will draw inspiration from Chicago’s rich architectural history, featuring high-contrast, monochromatic tones. It will feature classic minimal geometry with an elegant backdrop, combining a wide range of materials, including metallic accents and plush upholstery that provide a warm and comforting guest experience.
Construction on The Club MDW will begin early next year for a fall 2024 opening.
