I definitely think this option of gaining Marriott Platinum is very good, especially for people who don’t have the Ritz credit card or don’t want to spend $75K. Since Marriott Platinum also gives you SPG Platinum and benefits with United & Delta, it is quite valuable.

This is the first time I had heard of pre-approved offers coming without the bonus language. This isn’t completely unexpected considering Amex removes their bonus restrictions on some targeted offers as well. Either way it is worth taking a look to see if you are one of the lucky ones.
