NASA Federal Credit Union Offers 5.50% CD

If you are looking a high-yield account NASA Federal Credit Union, could be the right institution for you. They have now increased interest rates offering up to a 5.50% APY.

NASA Federal Credit Union is now offering the following interest rates:

  • 9-Month Certificate with 5.50% APY
  • 15-Month Certificate with 5.30% APY
  • 49-Month Certificate with 4.60% APY

Key Terms

  • Early withdrawal penalties apply and may reduce earnings.
  • Special 49-month Certificate renews automatically to a standard 48-month term at the rate in effect at the time of renewal unless instructed otherwise.
  • Special 15-month Certificate renews automatically to a standard 12-month term at the rate in effect at the time of renewal unless instructed otherwise.
  • Special 9-month Certificate renews automatically to a standard 6-month term at the rate in effect at the time of renewal unless instructed otherwise.

Who Is Eligible

This offer is available nationwide. You can become a member of NASA Federal Credit Union for free by joining the National Space Society. You will also need to open a savings account with a $5 deposit.

Conclusion

This is currently the best rate that is available nationwide. But it’s worth mentioning that in the past, joining NASA Federal Credit Union has resulted in a hard pull. I’m not sure if that is still the case, so it probably only makes sense if you plan to deposit a considerable amount. Let us know in the comments if you have joined this credit union recently.
