New Offer for United Club Infinite Card
Chase launched a new premium United card earlier this year. The new United Club Infinite card replaced the old United Club card. The card was launched with a welcome bonus of 100,000 miles, but that offer expired a few days ago.
The new welcome offer doesn’t have any bonus miles, but waives the annual fee for the first year. When we’re talking about a $525 fee, that’s a small bonus on its own.
Mark reviewed the card when it first launched. It gives several perks and benefits and United lounge access over the next 12 months. You also get 4X per dollar spent on United purchases, access to more award space, free checked bags, Premier Access, free Global Entry or TSA Precheck and more.
Analysis
I don’t have to get into the the points valuations and to figure out that the 100K miles was the better bonus. That’s worth at least twice as much as the waived $525 annual fee.
But this new offer could still be worth it for some people that don’t want to pay anything out of pocket and get the benefits of the United Club Infinite card.
With that said, you can use United miles at a value of 1.5cpp to pay for credit card annual fees. Plus with the Chase 5/24 rule, is hard to justify a slot for a card that doesn’t give you a welcome bonus.
Conclusion
The United Club Infinite card has a $525 annual fee and gives you United lounge access access which costs more than that. Still, with no bonus miles, it’s probably a pass for most people.
Even if you think it’s worth it, it is probably best to wait until you are able to travel again so you can take advantage of the benefits. Currently there’s no expiration date for the offer.
