Redeem United Miles for annual fees

Redeem United Miles at 1.5cpm for Credit Card Annual Fees

If you have United miles in your account and are not yet planning any travel, you can make use of those miles to pay your annual fees.

United miles can be used to pay for Club Membership, award travel, or to pay the annual fees on United credit cards. Usually the best value for your miles is redeeming for travel. The value United miles is normally about 0.75¢ for a club membership and 1¢ for credit card fees.

But now, for a limited time, United is offering a value of 1.5¢ per mile to pay your annual fees on United credit cards. That’s a very good value, especially now that travel is probably still out of the question for many. The promotion applies only if your annual fee was billed in March, April, or May.

You should also check with Chase and see if they will refund you the annual fee. They have been somewhat generous with retention offers for Chase United credit cards.

Conclusion

A good option for using your United miles during these uncertain times. Let me know if you think it’s worth it and whether you have tried a retention call recently for Chase United credit cards.

  1. I tried a retention call with Chase but that was a big No Go. Then I tried the miles for annual fee on my own but only got one cent per mile. So that was a no go. Then I used the link on this page and did receive the 1.5 cents per mile so I went ahead and did it. Thanks for the info.
