PLAY Launches Third US Route to New York’s SWF
Icelandic airline PLAY has begun its service from New York’s Stewart International Airport (SWF). This is the third U.S. route for the new carrier. PLAY is already operating out of Baltimore/Washington D.C. (BWI) and Boston Logan International Airport. Orlando flights are set to launch on October 1st.
The New York service will enable PLAY to tap into travel demand and a strong outlook for tourism in New York. The timing can’t get any better as the White House just announced the end of testing requirements for inbound travel.
Besides direct flights to Iceland, PLAY will provide affordable connections to 22 destinations in Europe, including Paris, Dublin, Copenhagen, Brussels, Berlin and Barcelona.
The airline has already flown more than 230,000 passengers since launching in June 2021, and it flew 60,000 passengers in the first quarter of 2022, as reported by Travel Pulse.
There’s also a Graduation Flash Deal to celebrate the new New York route. Through the end of the day today, you can get discounted fares to Iceland and also Berlin (BER), Paris (CDG), Dublin (DUB), and Copenhagen (CPH) for travel between September 3 and November 12 of this year.
Prices are advertised as one-way fares for $99-$129. I don’t see any fares for $99, but there are several dates with sub $300 round-trip fares for September and October.
You can start booking flights at www.flyplay.com.
