Huge Giveaway to Say Thank You
Miles to Memories has been growing at a tremendous pace. In an effort to thank all of my readers (both old & new), I am going to be holding a giveaway this weekend. In total, I will be giving away at least 10 prizes.
What You Might Have Missed
While I am not going to rehash all of the great content from the past (you can always poke around), I know many of my readers are new here, so here are a few unique posts you might have missed from just the past two weeks:
- All about Walmart’s Savings Catcher & How to Save Money – A complete guide, my real world experiences & how to redeem Walmart Bucks with Bluebird.
- Commentary on the miles/points game, beginners & taking it slow.
- A comparison chart of American Express checking alternatives. (Serve, Bluebird & Prepaid REDcard.)
- How to get a status match on Alaska Airlines.
- Part 1 of my extensive review of the Norwegian Getaway cruise ship.
- Credit card reviews (no affiliate links) of the Chase Freedom & Barclay’s Arrival Plus.
- I was the first to post about this week’s Staples Mastercard deal (still going through Saturday) & last week’s Top Cashback eBay deal (no longer available). Staples also has another upcoming deal.
- Review of the Crowne Plaza Kochi.
- Why you don’t HAVE to call credit card reconsideration and Citi AA card reconsideration strategies and resources.
- A look at the fastest coaster in the world & Wonder La in Kerala, India.
- Review of the Etihad Diamond First Class Lounge in Abu Dhabi International Airport.

As I mentioned, those posts are all from the past two weeks! Coming up this week I will have a bunch of new content on miles/points including more credit card reviews, my normal deal coverage, travel articles from Dubai, Colombia & India along with a continuation of my Norwegian Getaway review. Now back to the contest!

Bring more than one ATM card when you travel so that you can use different networks if necessary, if one card gets lost, demagnetized, etc.–or if the ATM “eats” your card. Yes, it really happened!
If you forget or misplace a charger while traveling, ask the hotel desk to check their lost and found; you may find something there that you can borrow and they may even give it to you. Ditto for airport lounges.
Consider doing a home exchange for your next trip. Save serious money on lodging!
bring a surge strip when travelling
always bring a small umbrella.
stay near public transportation systems when travelling, saves a lot of time communting.
When traveling with small children, pack entire outfits–underwear and all–in gallon Ziplock bags. Each day, your child can select their own outfit (bag). This trick allowed me to let my husband get our daughters dressed (and they didn’t look like he had dressed them) and gave me a little time to ready myself in the morning. Plus it keeps the kids happy by empowering them (and ensures that their clothes will match even on the last day of your trip)!
Thanks for the nice giveaway! I am enjoying your blog.
Venture past the tourist areas.
I advise you to read milestomemories post about how to switch to Serve with softcard, it gives you advantage of being able to load more amount directly from credit card to your Serve account to pay bills!

Plan before you travel & think before you leap!
Put address labels on your power cords. Makes it easier for the hotel to identify it as yours and return/mail it to you.
Bring clothes you want to get rid of on the trip and dispose of after wearing to make room in the suitcase for souvenirs
Use the visa concierge! They found me a great Pilates class that fit into a busy work trip in a city I didn’t know. They also sent me a 3 page list of tween friendly events for another trip when I brought along my niece.
Don’t be afraid of a Sears manager. The one I dealt with today was nice. 🙂
You can buy things with kohl’s cash first, and return them in store. Some nice stores will return you the value into a store gift card to use later.
Use a credit card with no foreign transaction fees abroad.
