$1 Per Day To Rent An RV
I admit that it has always been a dream of mine to rent an RV for a summer cross country adventure. Luckily, my family and I have made three such trips, unfortunately they had to be in a car due to the exorbinant costs of RVs. It is one of the few times in life where IÂ have agreed to put a travel dream off until another time.
We also spent quite a bit of time in 2007 & 2008 in Australia and New Zealand where many travelers rent an RV or campervan to see those countries. Once again, cost became a huge factor and we resorted to a lowly car which ended up being significantly cheaper even with lodging factored in.
Relocation Specials In USA, New Zealand & Australia
I just received an email from Travelzoo alerting me to relocation specials that Apollo RV Rentals has going on in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. In the USA, you can rent an RV for $1 per day for relocations from Los Angeles, San Francisco or Las Vegas to Texas in October.
Of course you do have to pay for the fuel (these things burn through gas) and the destination is Texas, but I could see this as being quite an adventure. October is a beautiful month to travel as it is still warm enough most places, but the brutal summer heat is gone. Along with the $1 rental fee, Apollo requires renters to pre-pay for the first tank of gas at a $195 rate, however the RV can be returned empty.
Apollo also has specials for relocation rentals in Australia & New Zealand which seem like pretty good deals. The full details for all of the rentals and requirements are on their website. Considering I could leave from my home town, this deal is tempting, however I have previous engagements which will prevent me from doing this.
Would you ever rent an RV? Have you ever? Let me know!
