    • You can cancel your membership and sign up as a new member after 6 months have expired. If you have someone else who can split the membership with you, the other person can be added to the primary account holder’s membership This added member can personally take advantage of any new member offers for Sam’s Club, such as the ones offered the last two holiday seasons.

What YOU would do is cancel your Sam’s Club and piggy back their membership so that you both effectively get free Sam’s memberships year-round, assuming the aforementioned offers continue to be offered to new sign ups.

I personally don’t find enough value in a Sam’s membership, but I’ll take it if it’s free since it’s a block away from part of my normal shopping (it’s near Staples). I use Costco for warehouse purchases, and that won’t change. For others without both options nearby such as I, rotating the Sam’s offers is even more valuable since you’d pay for it anyways.

  1. Yeah you are correct that there have been better deals for new members like the one you mentioned. This is a great deal for existing members to renew their membership or for someone who needs the membership now.

  2. Eh, if anyone is itching and missed the recent deal then yeah, I suppose this is the way to go. I picked up a membership in November. This was a MM for me when factoring in the $20 gc, $20 food, cb portal and Discover online cb (original price was $45 for the membership). Note, it is Sam’s Club 2% rewards earning as well.

I read they did a similar deal the year prior, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they do this promotion again next year during the shopping holidays.
