Cheap Sam’s Club Membership Offer
I’m not sure what is going on with Sam’s Club, but they sure are offering quite a few membership deals this year. I know a lot of people missed out on the last deal, so I thought I would let you know about a similar one that has surfaced. This time the deal is offered by Zulily and there are two options:
Back to School Offer
This exclusive $45 offer includes:
- A one-year Sam’s Club® Plus membership (a $100 value)
- Complimentary spouse or other household member card
- $25 gift card
- $20 in special Instant Savings** offers loaded directly to the membership card within 72 hours of membership activation
Instant Savings offers include:
- $10 off any name-brand kids’ lightweight or heavyweight jacket (approximate retail price $11.98 – $29.98)
- $10 off any name-brand kids’ jeans (approximate retail price $12.98)
Party Offer
This exclusive $45 offer includes:
- A one-year Sam’s Club® Plus membership (a $100 value)
- Complimentary spouse or other household member card
- $20 gift card
- More than $20 in special Instant Savings** offers loaded directly to the membership card within 72 hours of membership activation
Instant Savings** offers include:
- FREE 30-count custom cupcakes (Approximate retail price $14.58)
- FREE 16” Take ‘n’ Bake Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza (Approximate retail price $6.99-7.99)
Analysis
At the very least you are basically getting a membership for $25. I could see the clothing and/or pizza options good for certain people, although I know they won’t be for everyone. It is also important to note that this membership is their “Plus” membership which also gives $10 in cashback for every $500 spent.
How to Maximize
- (Optional) If you are new to Zulily and want to use my personal referral link (I earn $15 after your first purchase) you can sign-up here. (Don’t buy yet though.)
- Then you can go through a portal and earn an additional 1-2%.
- You should see the Sam’s Club deal promoted on the front page after clicking through.
Am I Doing It
I have always had a club membership to either Costco or Sam’s Club. While I really prefer Costco, my decision has always been based on which store is closer. I recently moved to an area which is much closer to Costco. With that said, when I lived in my old house, I actually purchased a very similar deal from Zulily. I don’t see the point in joining at full price if they are going to have deals like these.
Conclusion
I know this isn’t for everyone, but for those people with the Amex Offer who were holding off, this is about as good as it gets. If you have kids then either offer probably makes even more sense. I won’t be jumping in on this one, but if I lived closer to a Sam’s Club I wouldn’t hesitate.

shawn – obvious question not acknowledged: is this good for renewals or new memberships only ???
I apologize for not being clearer on that. This is for new memberships only, but in the past it has worked for people whose memberships have lapsed. Sometimes it is also possible for your spouse to sign up as a new member while you let your old membership go.
Having issues with a few Sams Club GCs, specifically with the activation. I don’t want to buy any other Sam’s Club GCs until my current GCs are activated..
I also used your link to sign up. I have been wanting to get a Sams membership for some time now, just needed that extra kick to make it worth it. Here it was!
Thanks!
What’s the best way to play this with the Amex offer? Would paying oir this deal trigger my $20 statement credit? Or would they need to be separate things?
This deal won’t trigger the credit since it is being sold by Zulily and not Sam’s Club. Any purchase will work and if you have more than 1 synced card you can pay with two cards per transaction. For example, you could buy a $50 Sam’s Club gift card and split the payment between two Amex cards. That would mean you get the $50 gift card for $10. They also have merchant gift cards available.
