Shop at Home ShopGold Ending
One of the cool things about the Shop at Home portal used to be their ShopGold program. In addition to their cashback rates, Shop at Home used to give you some points for every purchase you made through their portal. Over time those points would add up and then could be redeemed for gift cards. I never really factored ShopGold Rewards into deciding which portal to use, but it was a nice kicker.
Unfortunately the earning of ShopGold points ended awhile back and now all points have to be redeemed by November 2nd. Here is how they describe it on their site:
You may continue to redeem your ShopGold points for gift cards through Nov. 2, 2016. After Nov. 2, 2016, ShopGold rewards will no longer be redeemable and any unused ShopGold rewards will be forfeited. Saved gift cards that have not had their codes revealed will also be forfeited at that time.
Available Cards
Currently, these are the cards you can redeem points for:
- $5 Boscov’s – 500 points
- $5 QVC – 500 points
- $5 Hot Topic – 500 points
- $5 Torrid – 500 points
- $5 Walmart – 500 points
- $10 Athleta – 1,000 points
- $10 Banana Republic – 1,000 points
- $10 Gap – 1,000 points
- $10 Old Navy – 1,000 points
- $25 Cabela’s – 2,500 points
- $25 Dell – 2,500 points
- $25 Champs Sports – 2,500 points
- $25 Foot Locker – 2,500 points
Don’t Make This Mistake!
If you read their message above closely, you will notice that unrevealed codes will also be forfeited on November 2. What they don’t immediately tell you is that you can only reveal one code per day. For example, I had 3,500 points so I redeemed them for 7 X $5 Walmart gift cards. I now need to remember to go into my account for 7 days to redeem one card per day or I will forfeit them. Boooo Shop at Home. Boooo.
Conclusion
While I really wish Shop at Home would eliminate that one card per day rule to help people cash out their points before the deadline, there is still time so that everyone can do it. Walmart cards worked for me and hopefully you can find something that will work for you. It isn’t a huge amount of money, but there is no point in losing it.

Yes, and now my cards that I used my points for are no longer showing. They took away the ShopGold lingo totally on their site today! You were supposed to be able to use them today! Frustrating!!!!
they gave me additional 75 pts to add up to 500 after asking & redeemed a WM GC yday w/o issue

Why when I click on the gift card is it saying to go to Walmart “+ earn 50 NEW Shopgold points”?
Thought that’s the whole point? (That it’s done.)
I noticed that. I think they haven’t updated their language on their site. It is a shame since it is confusing but you can no longer earn ShopGold points.
Thanks for the heads-up on claiming the cards. That is lame. And, even worse, right now I’m getting this error message on all of my cards: “Yikes! That gift card isn’t available right now. Claim another gift card, or try again later.” I suspect might have something to do with the widespread DDoS attack.
You bring up a great point and hopefully others read this too. Like you I had multiple $5 walmart gift cards and had to set a reminder every day (thank you Calengoo) to reveal the code and add to my gift card app. Also worth noting that if you place an online walmart order you’re limited to 4 gift cards. I personally hate trying to redeem electronic $5 gift cards at walmart because for whatever reason I have issues with them scanning a gift card (even a physical one) without it holding up the transaction and/or calling a manager for help. I used them for a couple of orders of baby wipes for store pickup. Gotta get the cash back portal credit too. 🙂
