ShopRunner Mastercard Free Membership
ShopRunner is an interesting company. Launched as a competitor to Amazon Prime (back when Prime was basically just shipping), it offers free 2 day shipping from a number of merchants. The cost of ShopRunner membership is $79 per year, but there has long been a number of ways to get membership for free.
Personally I have had a free membership for as long as I can remember due to one promotion or another and it keeps getting easier. A couple of years ago American Express partnered with ShopRunner to offer free membership to their cardholders and now it seems Mastercard has partnered with ShopRunner as well.
Eligible Cards
Under this promotion, World Mastercard and World Mastercard elite cards are eligible for free ShopRunner membership. Among the most popular of these cards are:
- Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard
- Citi AAdvantage World Elite Mastercard
- Citi Executive AAdvantage World Elite Mastercard
- Citi Prestige
- Citi ThankYou Premier
- Citi ThankYou Preferred
- Citi Double Cash
Some other smaller banks have eligible cards and many of Citi and Barclaycard’s more niche Mastercard products qualify as well.
ShopRunner Benefits
As a member, you will receive free 2 day shipping and free return shipping at over 140 different stores. While many of these stores are smaller, there are some major merchants as well. Among the participating merchants are:
- Saks Fifth Avenue
- eBags
- 1-800-Flowers
- Newegg
- Staples
- NFL Shop
You can find the full list here.
Bottom Line
Keep in mind that some stores which partner with ShopRunner offer free shipping on most items already and some like 1-800-Flowers and Newegg only offer ShopRunner shipping on some items. Still, this membership has come in handy for me in the past and I think it is certainly worth signing up for if you already have an eligible Mastercard.

Have you found any items cheaper on shoprunner compared to Amazon? I checked a bunch if items but I always find the same items way cheaper on Amazon and I normally get free shipping without a Prime membership anyway since always order over $25. From my experience I could not find any value in Shoprunner but I would love to hear other experience as maybe their is value to be found on some items?
I seem to get the most value out of Newegg, but this isn’t a product I would pay for. Since it’s free I am glad I have an account on the occasion I need it.
