Six Flags Qiddiya, New Massive Park Opening in 2023 in Saudi Arabia

A new and and expansive Six Flags location is coming soon. Six Flags Qiddiya is scheduled to open in 2023. It promises to be much more than the usual Six Flags that you might have visited. It will be one of the key assets to be unveiled as part of the first phase of Qiddiya, which is being built to provide fun and professional opportunities to the Saudi population.

Now Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) announced the award of a SAR 3.75 billion contract ($1 billion), to build the new theme park, to Bouygues Bâtiment International (BBI) – a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction – and Saudi Almabani General Contractors.

Situated on the outskirts of the Saudi capital, Qiddiya is a destination city that is currently under development and when open, will become a disruptive destination that offers innovative experiences in entertainment, sports and arts.

Six Flags Qiddiya will cover 32 hectares (79 acres) and feature 28 uniquely themed rides and attractions across six lands: The City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune and Grand Exposition. The park will also boast a number of record-breaking roller coasters including The Falcon’s Flight, the longest, tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world.

All rides and attractions have been designed exclusively for Qiddiya and embody the rich cultural heritage of the location as well as Saudi Arabia. The theme park will be home to five signature rides that will break ten world records including: Falcons Flight, the world’s tallest, fastest and longest coaster; Sirocco Tower, the world’s tallest, free-standing shot tower ride; Gyrospin, the world’s tallest pendulum ride; Spitfire, the world’s tallest inverted top hat coaster; and Iron Rattler, the world’s tallest tilt coaster.

The central hub of the park will be the Citadel which will be covered by a billowing canopy form inspired by traditional Bedouin tents. Home to a wide range of cafes and shops, the venue will transform into an interactive show space throughout the day. From here, visitors will find gateways to each of the themed lands.
