Analysis
This promotion gives you a 20% discount for those who have a location nearby and regularly shop at Smart & Final. The $10 discount applies towards a future purchase based on terms of the offer, so make sure you save that receipt.
Use a credit card that will give you the most reward for everyday spend, since this store doesn’t code as groceries or supermarket.
Conclusion
This is a nice discount and there’s a few good options included. It should be profitable on some brands when combined with credit card rewards and especially if you can make use of the eligible gift cards.

This headline is incorrect in a couple of ways. First you are not getting a discount on Best Buy, Nike, etc., you are paying full price and simply getting an expiring $10 coupon for future use at S&F that you cannot roll into more GCs. Second, even if you equate this deal as a true $60 of value for the $50 in spend, that is a 16% savings, not 20%.
You’re spending $50 and you’re getting $10 back which you can use towards a future purchase, which could be as good as cash for those who already shop there. But yes, you could also take it as a $50 Best Buy GC and $10 S&F GC for $50. I guess you could look at it either way.
YMMV When I purchased a gc at one local Smart n Final, the cashier asked me what payment would I used. She said credit card was ok, but gc could not be purchased with any gc or coupon.
can you roll the $10 coupon for next gc purchase?
