Southwest Schedule Extension

Southwest Schedule Extension

Southwest Airlines today extended its flight schedule into the Spring of next year, allowing customers to begin booking their travel for more than 8 months out.

The carrier’s full schedule of service through April 7, 2025, is now available for purchase at Southwest.com.

Booking advanced reservations on Southwest can be difficult since the schedule is normally only available on average about 6-7 months. Now, with this latest schedule extension, you can start planning your Spring Break getaways, and other early spring.

Southwest also announced today some new international routes. That includes flights from Nashville to Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos in Mexico and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, plus flights between Sacramento and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. All three routes will launch on March 8, 2025.

New domestic non-stop routes include Austin-Milwaukee (Weekdays), Austin-Reno, Nev. (Less than daily), Nashville-Indianapolis (Daily), and Sacramento, Calif.-Tucson, Ariz. (Weekends).

The airline is adding more service for fall college and professional football matchups with service between:

  • Dallas and Lubbock, Texas (Game is on Nov. 9)
  • Omaha, Neb., and Los Angeles (LAX) (Game is on Nov. 16)
  • Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago (Midway) (Game is on Nov. 16)
  • Cleveland and New Orleans for a Sunday matchup on Nov. 17

Conclusion

Hopefully checking the schedule early will result in some discounted flight bookings. It is probably wise to book early and don’t forget to check regularly to see if the price drops so you can get a refund, especially during promotions.
