Starwood Preferred Guest 4Q Promos – Targeted & Public
Starwood Preferred guest recently announced the details of their public 4th quarter promotion. Additionally, they are sending out emails to targeted members offering even more bonus points for 4th quarter stays. Let’s take a look at both the public and targeted promotions including the terms and how to register.
Stay More Earn More
The public 4th quarter promotion for SPG is called “Stay More Earn More”. Anyone can register for the promotion and it works quite simply:
- Earn 2X points on stays of two nights or more.
- Earn 500 bonus points on stays of 3 nights or more.
Terms
SPG® Members must register online at spg.com/stayformore by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) onDecember 6, 2015. Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for each eligible stay of two or more nights between October 1, 2015, and December 20, 2015, (the “Promotion Period”) at participating Starwood hotels and resorts. A list of nonparticipating hotels and resorts can be found at spg.com/stayformore and is subject to change.
Targeted 4th Quarter Promotion
This afternoon I received a targeted promotion that should stack with Stay More Earn More for even more bonus points! This targeted promotion works like this:
- Earn 1,500 bonus Starpoints on your first stay.
- Earn 2,500 on your second stay.
- Earn 3,500 on your third stay.
Terms
Eligible member must register by November 30, 2015, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Member can earn 1,500 bonus Starpoints® after one (1) eligible paid stay, 2,500 bonus Starpoints after the second (2nd) eligible paid stay, and 3,500 bonus Starpoints after the third (3rd) eligible paid stay. As part of this promotion, member may earn a maximum of 7,500 total bonus Starpoints for three eligible stays from October 1, 2015, through December 31, 2015 (the “promotion period”). This promotion is not transferable.
You can find the full terms of the promotion and check to see if you are eligible on this page. According to the terms, not all members are eligible.
Conclusion
The combination of these two deals is very attractive considering the overall value of Starpoints. Whether you have any planned Starwood Preferred Guest stays upcoming or not, I would suggest registering for the public promotion and checking to see if you are targeted for the fairly lucrative targeted promotion. Good luck!

Got this in my inbox. Would have preferred points but looks like I’ll make Platinum this year. Of course not sure how useful that is…
“Member will earn double elite qualifying nights and stays at any of the more than 1,200 SPG® participating properties between October 1, 2015, and December 31, 2015, but only after registration occurs. Promotion is not retroactive for nights/stays completed before registration.”
I got the same targeted offer that you got.
Mine was for 2,000 each after 2nd, 4th, and 6th paid stay.
On a separate note, I dove in to the discover Apple Pay offer (hoping to have it pan out), but wasn’t that familiar with vanilla visa gift cards. Didn’t realize there’s a version that’s a “fast card” that you can’t set a pin on just by choosing one. Are you familiar with these, and is there any way I can set a pin (by calling or otherwise)?
I’m now the less than proud owner of a couple of them. If I just have to use those for regular spend it’s not the end of the world (especially if they come through with 20%… or 23% with IT Miles card)
After trying your link, I found out I was targeted, but for a different one: “You’re all set to earn up to 12,000 bonus Starpoints® on eligible stays between October 1, 2015, and December 31, 2015.
Here’s how to do it: Book and complete your stays and be eligible to earn 4,000 bonus Starpoints on your fourth stay, 4,000 on your eighth stay and 4,000 on your twelfth stay. Earn a maximum of 12,000 Starpoints.”
I wish I got yours as 4-12 stays is not quite realistic for me (4 is doable, but that’s about it)
I wasn’t aware there are multiple versions. Thanks for sharing the details, although I do agree my version does seem to be better.
Nice. But my planned stays for the next five months are all going to be points. Darn
Hi Shawn,
A quick question off topic but I think it might be useful. Do you know that target red card cannot be reloaded by debit card from Oct 4th? It will be cash only or chip enabled debit card. Thanks. Hope you can help me verify.
