Earn Up to 4k Bonus Starpoints

SPG is sending out a new targeted promotion to certain members offering a bonus of up to 4,000 Starpoints for two stays between May 1, 2015 & July 31, 2015. The bonus works as follows:

  • 1st Stay: Earn 1,500 Points
  • 2nd Stay: Earn 2,500 Points
  • Total Earned: 4,000 Points

This promotion seems to be targeted towards newer members. You can see if your account is eligible by visiting spg.com/newmemberexclusive.

Key Terms

“Eligible member must register at spg.com/newmemberexclusive by June 30, 2015, 11:59 p.m. ET. Member can earn 1,500 bonus Starpoints after one (1) eligible paid stay and 2,500 bonus Starpoints after the second (2nd) eligible paid stay. As part of this promotion, member may earn a maximum of 4,000 total bonus Starpoints for two stays from May 1, 2015, through July 31, 2015 (the “promotion period”). This promotion is not transferable. Bookings made prior to the promotion period are eligible, but only eligible stays consumed during the promotion period will earn a bonus.”

Analysis

Starpoints are pretty valuable and I generally consider them worth about $.02 each. Remember that you can also stay in Category 1 properties for as low as 3,000 points, so this could be a way to earn a free night for as little as two one night stays.
