TWA Hotel Charges $50+ Per Person for Rooftop Pool
The TWA hotel opened up at JFK in 2019. It features a rooftop pool-cuzzi and observation deck overlooking a JFK runway. But going to this famous pool will cost you, even if you are a hotel guest. If you thought resort fees were bad, check out the prices for jumping into this JFK pool.
The JFK airport hotel charges guests up to $50 per person to make a reservation at its rooftop pool. TPG reports that the TWA Hotel first added a fee for paying guests to use the pool last summer. Originally, only non-guests would have to pay for pool privileges.
There are also taxes and fees added onto your bill for the use of the pool. To make matters worse, you already get charged a facility fee (plus taxes) of $17.94 per night per room. And yes, kids have to pay as well. Children between the ages of 5-12 will be charged $20 every day. Children age 4 and under may use the pool for free with adult supervision.
Each pool reservation only lasts for one hour and 45 minutes. At the conclusion of that period, guests will be asked to completely exit the pool area so it can be cleaned.
Admission to the pool and observation deck includes towels and a table for dining at The Pool Bar. Pool loungers cannot be guaranteed or reserved. No food or beverages are included in the price, and the prices are what you would expect in NYC, plus a few dollars. Cocktails start at $15, wine at $14 per glass, beers from $8 and most food options are $15 to $17.
Conclusion
These are crazy prices. A family of four for example will have to pay about $200 just to access the pool and then pay inflated prices for snacks and beverages. But I guess there’s a premium for the experience of plane spotting at JFK from a pool.

Stayed here once, will never return. A trainwreck across every aspect of customer service.
They don’t call it The Worst Airport hotel for no reason. (I call it the Worst Airport Hotel for lots of reasons … experienced firsthand, unfortunately.)
Well, if they’re charging for the roof, some knucklehead is paying (lots of knuckleheads are paying) …. a fool and his money are soon parted.
Paid less than that to sit in a hot tub on the back of a boat in the Norwegian Sea, looking up at the Northern Lights, on New Year’s Eve. And mine included dinner.
Keep paying those fees and it will only get worse.
Those prices for drinks and food remind me of the prices for the same at a Yankees game! :-O
