Two New Marriott Promotions, Earn Extra Points for Your Stays

Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott’s loyalty program, has recently launched two new promotions that will earn you extra points for your stays at eligible properties.

One is a global promotion for most properties, where you can get up to $4,000 bonus points per stay. The other applies to stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott only and can get you up to 10,000 extra points.

Let’s see the details of each promotion.

Marriott Global Promotion

Earn up to 4,000 bonus points on each eligible stay, starting with your second stay:

  • Marriott Bonvoy members can register now through December 1 to earn 2,000 bonus points after completing an eligible stay at participating hotels starting with your second stay. Stays must be completed from September 21 through December 15, 2022.
  • Plus, Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card holders can earn an additional 2,000 bonus points for each eligible stay at a different hotel brand during the promotional period, starting with the stay at the second brand. Stays must be completed during the promotion earning period.

  1. Curious has anyone stayed at one of the Marriot Villas and actually received stay and point credit? I stayed in one end of July under the double points promotion, but I am still waiting for the stay credit. In the terms is says something crazy as it takes 9 weeks to receive credit, but AMEX also says same with offers which usually credit quickly. I am still trying to wait out the full 9 weeks as there does not seem to be a way to request through Marriot for the missing stay. If you use the Marriot page for missing stay, it does not work for Villas since the conformation # they give is not compatible for the missing credit form. I also tried calling Marriot once and got the run around the rep continued to tell me Marriot does not have Villas. I then had to point her to the Marriot page showing the Villa logo at the bottom and she told me it’s not handled by them, and I must call the 3rd Party booking company which they use “Vacasa”. When you call Vacasa they tell you they only manage the booking and Marriot is responsible to the say and point credit. Total run around with Villa stays, very frustrating.

  2. Not sure if a stay using their free night certificate will count. Looks like it might only be paid stays. I have to use some FNC’s by the end of the year and this would have been nice.
