United MileagePlus Cardholders Can Earn Bonus Miles or PQPs

United Airlines is offering select MileagePlus cardholders chance to earn bonus miles or Premier qualifying points (PQP) for purchases throughout the second quarter. This is a different promotion from the quarterly spending bonuses on Chase credit cards.

There are three spending tiers, withe the option to earn either miles or PQPs, and you can select only one of the six options available. Let’s see the details.

The Offer

Log in to select the type — bonus miles or bonus Premier® qualifying points (PQP) — and size of your bonus offer by June 15, 2024. Every qualified purchase from April 1 through June 30, 2024, will apply toward the spend and bonus goal you select.

After you register for this promotion, you will receive an email confirming your enrollment in this promotion in the email address in your MileagePlus profile.

What do these offers look like? Here’s an example:

  • Bonus Miles
    • Spend $500, Earn 700 miles
    • Spend $1,500, Earn 3,300 miles
    • Spend $2,500, Earn 7,500 miles
  • Premier Qualifying Points
    • Spend $500, Earn 35 PQPs
    • Spend $1,500, Earn 165 PQPs
    • Spend $2,500, Earn 375 PQPs

Offers will vary and some of these offers have much higher spending requirements.

Conclusion

This MileagePlus credit card promotion is available for consumer and business cardholders. It’s worth noting that you can select your offers until June 15, but all spending from April 1st will still count towards the bonus. That makes it easier to get am idea of which spending threshold you’ll be able to reach, and whether miles or PQPs are the better option.
